On Tuesday 10 April 2018, a 52 year-old construction worker from Germany died in an accident in a building site in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

The fatal accident happened on the rue Albert Borschette, a road parallel to the Bld K F Kennedy, shortly after 17:45.

The Grand Ducal Police have reported that a man was performing his work at a height of about 4 metres from the ground, and fell from the scaffolding for as yet unknown reasons.

The victim did not survive the fall and died as a result of his injuries in hospital where he had been rushed by the emergency services.

In order to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident, the public prosecutor's office has requested the measurement and identification service of the police to undertake a forensics examination of the scene. The ITM also visited the site, and the prosecutor's office has requested an autopsy.​
